A young man, Jide Valentino Sanya, who claimed that his university education was sponsored by singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has graduated from Afe Babalola University with a first-class.
He shared the good news with Nigerians via his Twitter handle, @OjaySanya, on Monday along with his graduation photos.
Sanya, who bagged first class in Electrical Electronics Engineering from Afe Babalola University relived the moment that the artiste reached out to him with a throwback picture.
Narrating how he became a beneficiary of Davido’s scholarship, Sanya disclosed that he left England for Nigeria after a financial challenge but was fortunate to meet Davido after expressing his frustration online.
The young man said he was shocked when the ‘FEM’ crooner set up a gofundme account to ensure that he finish his education.
He also expressed his gratitude to Twitter users who helped him retweeted his ‘SOS’ message till it caught Davido’s attention.
“University timeline, I left England because money no dey Lagos, mentor sets up a gofundme for me.
“Davido dropped funds to support my fundraiser (thanks to Twitter folk), resumed ABUAD and survived Nigerian education with first-class EEE.
“Thank you so much Davido,” Sanya tweeted.
