The University of South Wales is very pleased to announce the launch of a full scholarship in July 2023 intake for BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) for International students. This course will be launched exclusively with the International Student Network, and we are hoping that you will find this opportunity to be as exciting as we do!
This course comes with a full bursary for the course fees, and £1,000 towards living costs. We are looking for pre-registered nurses (qualified nurses should not apply) who wish to become an effective healthcare practitioners. We would encourage only applicants who meet the Academic and English requirements below, alongside the financial background to fund the required living costs.

Course Fee: Full bursary
Living Costs: £1,000 bursary contribution, the rest of the living costs to be provided by the student. (£8300)

Academic Requirements: 5 WAEC/NECO B3 grades and above. Including an A in Biology, B in Maths, and B in another science-related subject.
English Requirements: Applicants must have an IELTS of 6.5 overall including a minimum of 6.5 in each band. We will also accept WAEC/NECO C6 or above.
This course is professionally regulated by the NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council) and is commissioned by Health Education Improvement Wales (HEIW) with a full tuition scholarship and a £1,000 contribution towards living costs, per year. In exchange, applications must commit to working within NHS Wales for a period of two years, commencing employment within three months of successful completion of this course. If applicants fail to work within Wales for the required two-year period, they will be subject to the repayment provisions as set out in the bursary agreement.
Interview Procedure:
There will be two interview stages to secure a full scholarship:
First Stage
Applicants will undertake a scheduled 10–15-minute informal conversation in English to ensure the applicant genuinely wishes to study Nursing. This will help demonstrate that the applicant’s English language proficiency is sufficient to meet the course outcomes. This is a subjective
assessment.
Second stage
Applicants will undertake a scheduled 30-minute online MS Teams interview between 20th March 2023 and 6th April 2023. The interview will be undertaken by a panel consisting of one academic staff member,
and either a current student/non-academic staff member or a practicing clinician. Information about and interview tips will be provided to applicants when invited to attend an online interview. Applicants will be scored using a standardized interview selection matrix.
To meet NMC professional body requirements for admission applicants must
• have the capability to develop numeracy skills required to meet
course outcomes
• demonstrate proficiency in the English language
• have the capability in literacy to meet course outcomes
• have the capability to utilize and develop digital and technological
literacy to meet course outcomes.
